TV Anniversary of the Week #1:

Hard to believe it is *10 years* since the premiere of our adaptation of MIDWINTER OF THE SPIRIT on ITV. I think we worked hard to do the late Phil Rickman and his wonderful crime/supernatural books proud. Anna Maxwell Martin was, to my mind, a perfect Merrily - imperfect, sensitive, full of doubt, but strong of faith and inner courage. The rest of the cast were a joy too. ("Joy", geddit? Scritch, scratch!) And huge credit to the producer, director and the entire lovely team I worked with. It was just a crying shame we didn't get a chance to do more - but we went out against Dr Foster on BBC1 and that was that. Still, happy times!
