The story of a seven year old boy in the Welsh Valleys in the 1960s who is obsessed by horror film monsters and football. When his father dies suddenly, the boy is devastated, but one day he arrives back home from school to find his dead Dad sitting at the kitchen table eating chips. His Mam says it's his uncle come over from Australia for the funeral, but the boy doesn't believe her. He knows his Dad when he sees him. And maybe he's right.
